Conferences must be at least 6 weeks from 01/12/2026.

This grant provides funding for undergraduate students to present at academic conferences within their field. You may receive a grant of up to $400 for a Conference Research Travel Grant. The State of Florida prohibits anyone from receiving more than 100% compensation for travel.

Due to constraints and limited funding, we may not be able to provide full or partial funding. This grant is provided on a first come, first serve basis. We encourage you to submit your application as soon as possible. However, submitting a grant application DOES NOT guarantee that you will receive funding. You are encouraged to look into the following funding options in addition to applying for the SGA DAART travel grant, previous known as the SCURC travel grant. Our grant funding is a REIMBURSEMENT, so receipts are REQUIRED.

Additional funding sources:

1. Honors Attendance Awards, for students in the University Honors Program or completing an Honors in the major thesis (https://honors.fsu.edu/student-experience/grants-and-funding).

2. Your department, which may offer or know of additional funding sources.

3. The conference you are attending. Conferences sometimes offer funding to offset costs for student presenters.

4. Other outside funding sources that you or your research mentor may know about, including the Council on Undergraduate Research (https://www.cur.org/).

5. Students within the College of Arts and Sciences may also apply for a conference travel grant through the Center for Undergraduate Research and Academic Engagement. More information can be found here.

Application Requirements:

4. Upload a signed Endorsement Form from your faculty mentor using the linked faculty endorsement form in the appropriate section of this application. We suggest that you use DocuSign to complete the Endorsement Form.

5. Upload a completed Division of Undergraduate Studies Request to Travel form. You can download a template of the form within the application. List in the form all travel expenses you wish to be reimbursed, up to $400.

6. Be sure to correctly note in the application whether you will be an FSU employee when you travel for your conference. FSU has very specific policies for how employees may be reimbursed for travel expenses.

7. Have receipts for EVERY purchase you wish to be reimbursed for. Receipts for lodging and flight tickets MUST have your name on them. Receipts without your name on them WILL NOT be accepted per SGA Guidelines. Reimbursements will only happen once we have receipts for everything. You will be REQUIRED to submit all receipts in a separate form within 10 days of the conclusion of your conference if you are accepted to receive a conference grant. Submit any receipts that you already have to the Documentation Form. This form can be edited and is REQUIRED to be reimbursed.

Conditions of receiving any funding awarded:

SGA DAART travel grants (formerly SCURC travel grants) are issued through the Center for Undergraduate Research and Academic Engagement (CRE) on a reimbursement basis only.
